The foundation known as Arkansas Heart Foundation was originally founded in 2015 to bring heart health education to Arkansans, but it is transforming its mission and vision to focus on improving the health and fitness of Arkansas’ youth.
We are now known as Champions for Health!
In response to the growing epidemic of childhood obesity in the state, the foundation has a goal is to reverse these statistic! Obesity has been shown to be directly related to heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and many other chronic diseases.
The foundation will be launching a pilot initiative with Morrilton Intermediate School during the 2018-2019 school year with a plan to infuse health, nutrition, and fitness strategies into the school environment. The goal is to develop a replicable model for schools statewide to embrace!
